Fall-Themed Manicure Ideas | Sewickley Spa
Now that fall is finally here, it’s natural to want to make it feel that way (even if the forecast disagrees). Some folks do this with their food and drink (Comfort food and pumpkin spice, anyone?), but we like to do it with trending and seasonal styles. Celebrate fall with a few fresh manicure ideas.

Fall Colors

The easiest way to put your fingernails on-theme with the fall season is with the right splashes of color. Classic natural fall hues, as well as deep tones, create striking looks.

Orange, Red and Yellow

When the leaves change, these are the most prominent colors surrounding you. Why not take advantage and rock that fall theme on your digits? Colors along these spectrums, like copper (orange), rust (red) and gold (yellow), set the stage for enjoying the brisk season ahead. Grab your favorite seasonal latte to enjoy after, and you’ll be in full-on fall mode!

Dark Green, Purple and Black

More intense shades have their place during the fall season, too. These hues are striking and unexpected, but also complement your cooler weather wardrobe. Shades of green (emerald, forest), purple (plum, cranberry) and black really pop on longer nail lengths, while accentuating your best features, too. Makeup isn’t the only thing that can make your eyes sparkle, after all. Bonus: darker shades are easy to customize into a spooky vibe for Halloween.

Color Accents

Color itself is just one element. To achieve a look that’s truly out of the ordinary, use colors in different ways. You can do this by alternating colors between fingers, adding pop with a single accented fingernail on one or each hand or even by creating a two-toned look.

Alternating Colors

One Accented Fingernail

It’s been a hot trend for a number of years now—that one fingernail that stands in contrast from the rest. Maybe it’ll be your pointer finger or a thumb. The most popular option? Accenting the ring finger. One thing’s clear: this nail color strategy gets attention. Try a basic solid, like black fingernails with an emerald green left ring finger—so striking and sure to attract attention to your bling if you’re married or engaged.

Two-Toned Nails

To jazz up your nail color without going all out with intricate designs, find a middle ground with a two-toned approach. Whether stacked or side-by-side, pairing two colors on each fingernail is sure to create both a unique look and give a hat tip to the season you adore. Possible pairings: burnt orange and gold or forest green and black.
